      <title>Ensured safe return of employee stranded in the UK | Sasken</title>

 &lt;p&gt;After getting married in January this year, I had travelled to the United Kingdom (UK) towards the end of February for work related reasons. It was around this time that the rapid spread of COVID-19 led to a complete lockdown in UK with all London offices closed for the public. During this time in mid-March, I was initially residing in a shared accommodation which I had to vacate. Since all flights to India were suspended, I sought the help of a cousin in Hereford for a place to stay until the lockdown was lifted. My manager and fellow colleagues also provided the necessary support and contacts I needed during this time. When the Vande Bharat Mission was announced, I registered for a flight to India. Sasken’s HR, Finance, and Travel Desk departments also provided the necessary information and support for a smooth and safe return home. Once I reached Bengaluru, Sasken’s IT team also helped ensure I had the necessary connectivity for my project work to commence immediately. I am truly grateful for the end-to-end support that Sasken provided to help repatriate me to India during this precarious period.&lt;/p&gt;

      <title>Sasken repatriates an employee to Japan from India | Sasken</title>

 &lt;p&gt;I had travelled to Bengaluru in February to support the release of a project I was working, with March 10, 2020 initially being my final day in Bengaluru. However, the government announced a travel suspension till March 31, 2020. Since I couldn’t return to Japan, I decided to stay with my parents at Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh. I managed to get an e-pass and a vehicle to take me there.&lt;/p&gt; 
 &lt;p&gt;In May 2020, the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) put a hold on repatriation flights to Japan for Indians due to the rise in COVID cases. However, on May 12 they announced repatriation flights for stranded NRIs provided on humanitarian grounds for which my husband and I got the necessary documents for securing a flight. The Travel Desk at Sasken also helped me with the ticket from New Delhi to Haneda in Japan for June 25 and I booked a flight from Jabalpur to Delhi for June 23. I waited a day to receive clearance from the Japanese immigration office. After a flight while wearing a full PPE suit, I reached Haneda on June 26. Once all the necessary testing and formalities ended, I was finally reunited with my husband which was a joyous occasion. This repatriation would not have been possible without the endless support from my colleagues and the various departments at Sasken.&lt;/p&gt;

      <title>Safe repatriation, business continuity: COVID-19 | Sasken</title>

 &lt;p&gt;I was working as the Lead Consultant for a project based out of the UK which was expected to end in May 2020. While we were there, my wife and I were blessed with a baby daughter and subsequently my parents arrived to celebrate the new arrival in our family.&lt;/p&gt; 
 &lt;p&gt;I had already applied for my daughter’s passport and my parents had booked their tickets back to India. However, once the COVID-19 outbreak spread, the VFS offices cancelled any appointments necessary for my daughter’s passport. In addition, the family’s flight tickets back to India were also cancelled, leaving us stranded. My manager and various cross functional teams at Sasken took active steps to get support from the MEA and the Government of India for our safe return to India. When we heard of the Vande Bharat Mission, we coordinated with the HCI London branch for my daughter’s travel documents. In addition, we applied for an emergency passport in her name and, in mid-June, we managed to get a Phase 3 flight back to Chennai for the entire family.&lt;/p&gt; 
 &lt;p&gt;The HR and Travel desk at Sasken provided timely details of the necessary steps to take during the journey. Once we reached Chennai on June 28, we completed the necessary health checks and, after a weeklong quarantine, were finally back home. We are truly grateful for the support that Sasken provided during this time to ensure our safe return to India.&lt;/p&gt;

 &lt;p&gt;As the Manager of the Sasken’s Travel Desk, we had the unique responsibility of helping Sasians stranded in various geographies to get back home safely during the COVID-19 outbreak.&lt;/p&gt; 
 &lt;p&gt;Our first experience was with a colleague who had completed his assignment in Japan and we just had 24 hours to bring him home before the suspension of all flights from March 22. Various departments swung into action providing all clearances ensuring his safe and timely return to India.&lt;/p&gt; 
 &lt;p&gt;There were innumerable challenges like the constantly changing global rules and regulations, but we were able to navigate them successfully. Through our persistent efforts, we were able to get a couple of colleagues to return from the USA and the UK through the Vande Bharat Air India service in June. Another employee had come to Bengaluru from Japan in February for a project and was stuck in a hotel room throughout the lockdown. Once the lockdown was relaxed, she stayed with friends before we helped her board a domestic flight to her hometown, followed by a repatriation flight to Japan. Our most memorable success story was helping a colleague travel from the UK to Chennai with his family, including his four-month-old infant daughter. We are also relentlessly pursuing the return of two engineers who are awaiting confirmation on repatriation flights from Belgium and the USA.&lt;/p&gt;
